SOC Headquarters project is developed via a competition, organised by Basrah South Oil Company. In the first phase, the organizer wanted two separated buildings to be developed within the project area. However on the second phase, SOC has changed the design idea of two separated buildings into one highrise building.

Main idea of the project comes from the Firat and Dicle Rivers that run through the fertile lands of Mesopotamia and unite in Basrah. Design of the two building project was developed to reflect a seed which is fed by water. Between the buildings the logo of the SOC as a water drop can be seen.
